Valupak ValuOva PCOS Vitamin Tablets contain inostiol, PABA, folic acid and other B vitamins to support the health of women with PCOS (Polycystic ovary syndrome):
- Inositol: this is a vitamin-like substance that has been shown in in research to help reduces fasting blood glucose, fasting insulin, total cholesterol, triglycerides and testosterone levels.
- PABA (para-aminobenzoic acid): this is a natural substance found in some foods. Sometimes known as vitamin Bx or B10, it belongs to the B complex group, though it's not a vitamin. It assists in the production of folic acid.
- Folic acid (also known as folate or vitamin B9): along with Vitamin B12, this has been shown to improve in have a beneficial effect on fertility. This is particularly true for women with menstrual cycle dysfunction, a common symptom of PCOS. Folic acid supplementation has been shown to reduce homocysteine levels which are typically high in women with PCOS. This process helps to lower inflammation, reducing risk factors for heart disease and other reproductive symptoms. These vitamins have also been shown to improve insulin resistance in patients with metabolic syndrome. High insulin levels can cause the ovaries to produce more androgens, leading to increased body hair, acne, and irregular or few periods.
- B vitamins: in general these vitamins help to optimise hormonal balance which can help to alleviate PCOS symptoms.
